If anything, this is the least Camry-ish ES ever.
I like my ES 350 2012 interior better, clock and panel around shift *** is ugly and somewhat similar to camry interior. pre 2013 ES350 interior had 0 similarities with Camry, now I start seeing similarities around shifter area.

Probably not everyones cup of tea, no car is. One thing for sure though is the new one will sell like hotcakes. Probably near the levels of the current gen when it first arrived in April-May 2006.

I do have to agree that they have updated electronics (things like sports mode) and navigation system controls, this is a plus, current model seems to have little outdated navi system and controls, but styling along -- I don't think it is an improvement.
The excitement seems to be because its *different* from the old look that's been around for too long, not because they came out with something that is better. It was due for an update, so Lexus had to update....

When I saw it 2006, I liked a lot and was patiently waiting to buy one when my old car died, this is exactly what I did in 2011. I would definitely not buy it -- if 2013 ES was the only choice (will be in pretty soon).

I bought a 2007 in early-May '06 and liked it so much that I bought a 2010, which I like even more. I need to see the new one in person to get a better feel for it. I might be due for something a little different with the next car.

2007 and 2010 are similar in styling, thats why you like them both, but 2013 ES is a strange move for Lexus.... IMHO. Feels like they were forced to do something *different* because current style been around for 6 years.

LOL, I think theres more than a little bias behind this. I love my 2010 ES as well, but I don't have to denigrate the new one in order to still like mine. Theres nothing in this interior that ties it to the Camry any more than the current ES, or any other ES. I just looked at the pics again...and I see absolutely no similarities with the "shifter area" in the new Camry and the new ES. They're completely different.

i know you are all excited by new look, but I think it stinks.
We get it. Luckily for you you have a brand new 2012 that should serve you well.

but 2013 ES is a strange move for Lexus...
LOL, how? It makes the ES bigger...more features...more luxury, continued conservative looks with a little more sporty influence, and introduction of Lexus' new interior theme and spindle grille. Nothing strange about it. I'm sure its better than my 2010 in every way, as my 2010 is better than my 2003 was in every way.

It will sell VERY well.

Just to make sure I'm not totally crazy:

New Camry Interior:

2013 ES Interior:

I just don't see any similarities, and the only thing similar about the "shifter area" is that both have gated shifters...the ES has had a gated shifter since 2002, and the Camry has since 2007.

Don't get me wrong. I like the looks of the 2013. Just need to see it in person. The ES350 is due for a new look. Six model years for basically the same design is a LONG time in the car biz and with changes being made all of the time by the competition you've got to update the brand.

LOL, no you're spot on, I was thinking the same thing, how could someone say the two interiors look similar??...., well your post dispels that notion very clearly...I must add I'm really feeling the 2013 ES interior and I think in person its going to blow me away...

Yeah I can't wait to see it in person. I know I liked the 2013 GS way more in person than in pictures, so I'm looking forward to this.

Would the new ES 2013 slower than the previous ES since the platform is different and probably heavier ? Also, i find it sad that the new ES doesn't offer the option of camera blind spot as the Avalon will be.

I think the 0-60 time for the 350 was 7.1 which I believe is a little slower than the previous car.
