Bluetooth pairing issue
Just purchased my first Lexus ES 350 and it does not want to pair with our iphones. The procedure is pretty straight forward but when the screen comes up "waiting registration" the fields never populate. The iphones pair with other devices without problems.

I had a problem once with my Pixel 8. I turned off BT, then turned it back on. It then found Lexus, paired, and connected. I haven't had a problem since.

Reset the head unit by pressing and holding the volume down button and the infotainment power button for about 8 seconds and then try pairing again.

isolate your BT devices
This may not help, but I've had problems pairing Android devices in my BMW X5.
I use a BT OBD2 "dongle" to transmit diagnostic data (via the Torque Pro app) to an Android tablet on my dashboard, so I can view as I drive. I usually never unplug the BT dongle (an OBDLink LX, or a V-Gate vLinker MS, either of which which can be left plugged-in fulltime), and the pairing will remain OK. But, if I unplug the dongle to use my Foxwell NT510 Elite scan tool (for diagnostics at home), I'll have to re-pair the BT dongle. A problem sometimes occurs if I already have my BT rear-dashcam already on (paired to my main phone, a Samsung S9+), or my old Samsung phone has its' BT on (I use that phone as a front dashcam), my or even the aftermarket radio is on, trying to pair with the tablet. I'll have to turn off the BT on the other devices, connect/pair the OBD2 dongle to the tablet, then turn on the BT on the other devices. I FREQUENTLY FORGET TO DO THIS, and it'll always happen when I'm in a hurry to leave the house (especially if the wife is in the X5 with me). I should make a checklist to follow.... |
