TPMS Re-Learn Autel TS508
After 10 years, my TPMS display became questionable, would not display pressures, and at times, especially when the weather was cold, or I drove at speed for an extended period of time, my TPMS light would come on. I had a check done, and one TPMS was showing to have a weak battery. I purchased a new set of DENSO sending units, that were pre-programmed. . When I changed tires, I had the new TPMS units installed.
Rather than copy the old ID numbers from the original senders, I installed the new ones as is, and they did not register. I misunderstood the "pre-programmed" part. What was required was to have the onboard computer "re-learn" the new units. Rather than go to the dealer, I bought an AUTEL TS508Wifi TMPS tool. It worked great and in a few minutes, I read each tire by position, connected the devise thru the OBDII port, and in a matter of minutes , the old numbers were erased, and the new ones loaded. Tire pressures display, and all is perfect. Optionally, the TS 508 could copy the ID numbers from the old units, and program the new ones, keeping the same ID's. If I had done this, I would not have to go thru the re-learn procedure. I recommend this, tool. High quality, easy to use, good instructions. The 508 has other functions and can do multiple car brands. For those of you who have multiple sets of tires, this is your answer as switching back and forth will only take a few minutes. |
Don’t forget to read and make note of the ID #s of your old ones before they get old and their batteries expire…

The Denso units have set ID’s and cannot be cloned to use the old ID’s. Maybe a different brand but not the denso’s

Uncle must be talking about the Autel sensors that they also sell that are programable. (they come with id but clone feature erases it and puts the clone id over it).
These you can use to clone the oem ids, instead or inputting the new id of all 4 Denso tpms id manually. |
