If you use a desktop (MS), then some folks will recommend Techstream. Unfortunately it does not play well with Apple/Mac products. There are numerous OBD2 "dongles" available and they work with different apps. Personally I use the Carista app and dongle on Mac/OS. Just dive into your App store and see what you might prefer. Generally they aren't too expensive (I think I paid $20 for the Carista Dongle, got the first month of "pro level" scanning for free, and thereafter I pay about $10 for a week's use...which I don't bother with unless I see a problem pop up on the dash display...been a couple years now. The "free" use will give you codes but does not allow you to clear the codes, change the car's firmware settings (things like how/when to unlock doors, flash the blinkers for lane change, etc., etc.) Very useful if you have to take the car to a dealer...gives you advance notice of what codes might mean and provides a "verify" for what the service department will tell you. If you check out "Carista" (again, it's just what I use, not what you may select), on YouTube they post some videos of what it can do for Toyota/Lexus products including the TPMS sensors.
I don't have BSM on mine but it may indicate dirt on a sensor, broken sensor, loose connection....etc. I don't think that a code reader will help much with that but maybe someone else can shed more light. It may tell you which sensor is the problem and allow you to make the fix/change yourself saving a whole bunch of money that the dealer would charge.
