Posting here as our cars are nearly identical, but I'm hoping for more traction here:
My 2007 Avalon Limited with an optional vehicle stability control lost its speedometer and odometer, and a "check engine", "brake", and "ABS" lights are on. The problem is NOT intermittent, I've driven more than a 1,000 miles with the issue, and speedometer and odometer never work. Otherwise, everything else in the cluster functions properly.
I want to replace ABS computer as per my research it's the likeliest culprit + my CarScan Pro 5610 scanner gets "error communicating" when I tried to read ABS module codes. So, I have received now a 2nd used ABS pump + computer combo from eBay for my 2007 Avalon with optional traction and stability control. For the life of me I can't separate computer from the pump. I undo the x4 bolts the supposedly hold computer to pump body and pry and pry and pry to no avail! Both combo units have one corner of the computer as if welded to the pump body. I mangled computer's plastic body of the first unit by hammering screwdriver between it and the pump body all around the perimeter and still wasn't able to separate the two! Now I have a 2nd used combo from eBay and no success splitting computer from the pump body. Is there a trick a separating the two?The YouTube video I've seen makes it seem very easy, like so (2:20):
Hi friend, I did a tear down on the RX330(3.3L, 3MZFE) brake actuator and from the outside pics it looks a lot like yours.
Plz see this link below and let us know if it comes apart the same way and post some pics of your findings if you can.

Son of a gun!!!! Thank you so much, mate!!! So the whole assembly must be replaced, as they it's defacto inseparable! I was confused by all the repair services available for just the computer portion, but it's not applicable to cars with optional VSC apparently.

Very interesting video you posted.
He just removes a few screws and out it comes, 5 minute job. lol
I had to crack open the glued together black plastic case and desolder 66 solder joints to remove the ECU circuit board to get access to a 5th hidden screw. lol
Impossible to do while the actuator is on the car.
Is this video a newer design change anyone know?

My understanding is that cars without the optional VSC and traction control can have their ABS computers separated from ABS assemblies easily by just undoing the 4 screws that attach the computer to the ABS body. On cars with optional VSC and traction, such as yours(?) and mine that is not the case. There must be a good enough technical reason why Toyota doesn't want computer to be easily detached on our cars

Probably because it was cheaper to manufacture - less assembly time, more reliable (water penetration) etc. otherwise only thing I can think of is they tune the computer to the car during assembly, seems super unlikely, since you can buy a replacement module.
You might check over at Toyota Nation, lots of guru's over there.
