Call Lexus HQ and give them your issue and VIN and they will tell you

don't own one yet. I'm asking when did they solve the dash melting problem? Or is it prevalent for the entire duration of that generation?

mine is 08 and has over 177k km on it. the buttons and dash are intact. I live in Canada though. Apparently harsh sun can ruin the interior in this model. I have a front sunshade for summer days.

I don't believe they ever solved the issue they simply gave you a new dashboard if yours had the melting issue, but the part was never updated as far as I understand.
My 2010 is eligible for the quality program, but my dash is in great shape. For example, my car was purchased March 2010 and the program is valid until March 2021 for my VIN.

I started using a sunshade on the windshield for long term protection. Your mileage may vary.

My understanding that 2010+ have less issues with the dashboard from what I've read.

Talking Dash cover recall for 2010 ES-350

I have a 2010 ES-350 and my dash pad on top was sticky. I bought the car used a couple of years ago and called customer service to ask what I could do about it not expecting them to do anything and they asked for the VIN# and then told me it was defective and recalled. They told me to bring the car in for a free replacement at no cost to me and gave me a brand new ES-350 to drive for 3 days while they did the installation. I was impressed! I would see if the recall applies to your car. Good luck!
