Installing aftermarket rear view mirror camera (Q?)
 

Hi everyone,

I have ordered a rear view mirror that acts as a back up camera as well. the mirror looks exactly like the OEM mirror except it has a 4.3" display embedded in the mirror that gets activated when you put the gear in reverse. if I change my OEM mirror with this one I get a rear view camera which is a dimming mirror as well but I loose the auto dimming for my side mirrors because the wiring for the new mirror is different from the oem one. has anyone ever tried to install those aftermarket mirrors in his ES350? I'd like to keep the auto dimming feature for my side mirrors.

Doesn’t your backup camera display on the screen when you go into reverse? Are you still driving the 2012?....wrong forum.

Mine doesn't have navi to display a back up camera.

maybe w the wiring diagram you can jury rig something?

I want to follow up on this thread because I am thinking of doing the same for my Mother's ES, which I think is a 2007, although it might be a 2006. If we remove the OEM rear view mirror that came with the car, and installed an aftermarket mirror with the embedded backup camera and its own autodim feature, what other features would we lose from the car? Rain sensing wipers? Side view mirror dimming?
