Transmission Valve Body Install

I replaced the transmission valve body on my son's 2007 ES350 (U660E) because it had error codes for the speed sensor and "pending faults" on two of the solenoids. (This was causing the car to make a hard "thump" into each gear when driving). Now that I put everything back together none of the gears will engage. The transmission fluid level is correct and now it is not showing any codes when the engine is running. I did a lot of searching and have only found info on other vehicle. On the other vehicles the manual gear needed to be put in place prior to reinstalling the valve body. I am hoping this is the case with my vehicle. If anyone with experience on these transmission can give advice I would appreciate it. Thanks.

A service manual would probably help some, this is all I have: http://www.tcamanual.com/transmissio...250e_-535.html

Looks like the trans memory used to get reset when replacing valve body. maybe still the case. You might try some Toyota forums if you don't have any luck over here.

Update: Thanks to @w84me for the provided info I was able to correct the issue. The issue was that I did not move the Manual Valve over to the replacement that Valve Body. I was told by the seller that everything on the replacement was included; however, this was not the case. I fault myself for not paying attention to detail. I removed the Valve Body and put the Manual Valve in and now all is good.

Great to hear. Happy Motoring!

Hi.
You probably have this buttoned up already, but prior to posting here did you check the neutral safety switch? Or replace it? Also the mileage? Pressure? There is a slight chance a spring and check ball may have fallen out. Still another possibility that it is the wrong valve body/ shift solenoids or connectors/ wiring clips broke loose. Faulty ground wire can cause a heap of frustration. Then there is the control module. Not always, but they do need to be programmed.

Hi @vab53 , if you are still around, can you elaborate on the manual valve placement? I see it slides in/out of the valve body; does it need to be indexed a particular way before installing the valve body?
