Default 2010 Lexus ES 350

I am looking at a 2010 es 350. It has been in an accident. Is there any way I can tell what type of accident as the dealer doesn’t seem to have any info or won’t disclose that. It has 108,000 miles and they want 8700 for it. Also how can i see the vehicle service history. The vin number is JTHBK1EG4A2385761. Any help would be highly appreciated. I was planning on trading in my 04 ez 330 with 200k on it.

Thanks

Looks like it was rear ended in 2011, and it had some sort of damage in 2015. Damage doesn’t necessarily need to be an accident. My old ES showed damage to the front when I bought it and then when I went to sell it the damage was then upgraded to an accident reported somehow. Supposedly mine was they ran into a garbage can and cracked a headlight which the insurance replaced with an aftermarket TYC Xenon headlight.

Car does seem pretty clean from the pictures. If it drives well i’d have someone look at it to make sure it was properly repaired and it’s structurally sound. At that point use the car fax history to try to haggle down the price. When I was shopping for mine a year ago it seemed anything under $9K either had atleast one accident or damage in the car fax.

I don't know, I'd prefer something cleaner for more money.

I'm debating wether to buy a 2010 with navigation, original owner/private party, dealer serviced, tires have 9k on them, no accidents, 51k miles...I offered $12k (down from his $14500 KBB price). Private party low is $11700. I can see in the pics they have another lexus in the garage and it's in a nice neighborhood.

If you're not in a rush, scour autotrader, craigslist, Offerup and even local Facebook groups. Wait for a creampuff that someone is going to trade in. If financing, have it setup or easily setup at a bank or credit union.

I will say I waited too long just a few weeks ago, a 2015 infiniti q40 (g37), 44k miles, RWD, 2nd owner. Had it at $15500. Then 14999. Then 13999. I contacted him via email on a wednesday morning and he said he wanted to get a hybrid for commuting. I looked for the car Friday and it was gone. I emailed and asked if it sold and he said he TRADED IT IN on a Honda clarity!! Trade in was $105-12500. I felt sick as I probably could have had it for $13ish...but he didn't mention he was dumping it in 2 days. Then a few days later it's posted at honda dealer for $17999. 328hp rwd sedan...I've been looking for a nice is350/gs350 but they're hard to find in great condition in my area.

Dont feel to bad bad just because the dealer gave him 12ish that doesn’t mean he would of sold it to you for 13k. I’ve traded in cars where I was offered about 1K more than trade in and I’ve traded it in. To me the sweet spot has to be $2K above trade in at least for it to be worth my time. Trade in is simple hand keys and bye bye car plus that money forwards the car won’t be taxed if they word it right on the contract.

Oh, I'm in Oregon so there's no sales tax.
