Unhappy Isn't an amp an amp? ES, RX, CT200H, JBL

I'm curious why Lexus insists on using all different part numbers for basically the same amp (functionally). Looking at the schematics, wiring, pin-outs, etc, they all seem to be the same amp. I know they may have different mounting holes/hardware, but that withstanding, what else differs. Even the Toyota Highlader JBL amp has the same pin-outs as a ML.

Basically, why can't we use an RX amp in an ES, or any other car for that matter, as long as they have the same pin-outs and meet the requirements.

Anyone have some insight on this? Anyone have links or information they can share?

Thanks!
