My 2008 ES350 Came with old door edge guards that I took off as they were peeling and the color was off on them. Problem is, I can only find OEM edge guards that say they are for 2011-2012 es350's.

Is there a big difference between them ? From the pictures I see the doors seem identical in shape. I am leaning towards risking the $70 but first wanted to see if anyone had any insight. Thanks.

Actually , I just finished pulling off my 10 year old edge guards, and after 45 minutes, an old dish towel, and some goo-gone, I am pleasantly surprised that the doors are 98% perfect. I had read that when pulling them off there would be discoloration etc., and I figured I would be buying OEM ones to cover up but no longer see the need.

I am still curious though if there was changes to the door curves.

I can't imagine the edge guards are "pre-formed" for each model's doors, or are they? Aren't they just strips that take shape once they're installed to the curve of the door?

I think they are, because there are different ones for the GX and the ES as well as for different years.
