Default Transmission recall

I just got a call from my dealer and they told me about this recall. They're going to put in a NEW transmission on my 2007 ES350 free of charge. Also, they're giving me a loaner car. The thing I don't understand is I didn't have any problems with the original tranny, and my car only has about 22,000 miles on it. Bought it new from this dealership in 2006 and has only been serviced by them.

I remember amf1932 from way back in 2006 when I bought my first Lexus, an ES350 ight after the launch. He was a good contributor with good insights.

Thank's LexBob2 for those nice words. Actually, I called Lexus Corporation about this situation and it seems there is no recall for this transmission, but he also told me that doing this type of replacement can be done by any one of their dealerships if they deem it necessary. I'll keep you appraised after this work is done. I'm bringing in my car tomorrow at 9:00AM.

It's good to see that you till have your ES350. 22,000 miles! How much do you want for it?

This is nothing more than an old dealer GIMMICK to get you into the dealership where you will be given a sales pitch to trade-in your car for a new Lexus. Run away as fast as you can.

There is no Lexus recall for this... It could be a case of dealer good-will...

There’s no dealer that would replace the transmission for free, when there’s no recall or TSB.
