Anyone know how to disable daytime running lights
#16
That is not strictly speaking true. While the vehicle must be equipped with DRLs if manufactured after 1989, it is not illegal to drive with them being disabled. I don't know about the rest of the world.

Anyway, OP is in IL so no bearing on his car unless he brings it to MB

It is not illegal where I live and I also understand the safety factor of disabling them. My new headlights have a light from the low beams that run whenever the car is on, the DRL in the high beams take away the look and effect of the low beams I have installed which is why I would like to disable them.

You need to find the power source for the DRL. Then how is it switched from low voltage to 12 V. when the headlights are turned on. Then you should be able to figure out how to kill the DRL voltage but yet allow the headlights to turn on with the switch.
