Default FOB Battery ?

I was wondering about the Smart Key Battery
when i am close to the car or even when im not at sometimes i see the light on the key fob start to blink
and when i am in the car sometimes it will say key not detected does this mean i have a low battery?
is there an actualy msg that will tell you when the battery itself is low ?
i have read or heard from someone that some vehicles iwll notify you when remote battery is low

ah ok cool thank you
in the past 4 years, i have never had mine get low enough to say low battery i guess i replace them before its time.
i was concerned that perhaps it didn't say low battery and would just say key not detected

but now mine seems to be telling me that my key is not detected more than normal so i was thinking that was a battery issue
now i should wonder why it says key not detected when its in my pocket

I don't think the battery low detection is all that reliable. It relies on the FOB being able to detect the condition and send that information to the car. Might be hard to do if the FOB is very low on juice.

FWIW, my wife got locked out earlier this year because her FOB had a dead battery. She claims she never saw any error at all.

I noticed the sometimes the car will beep whenever someone exits the car who DOES NOT have the fob. It'll eventually correct itself and stop saying that the "Key is not detected".
And while Im on the topic of the key fob my car sometimes won't lock or unlock with the fob or grabbing the door handle. So I'll walk away from the car for a few minutes and come back and it will start to work as normal so does anyone think they know what the problem is? It's bizarre and super annoying.

If you use your car daily then change the battery in the FOB yearly. If the car is running and the driver with the FOB steps out the car will beep. If you have an intermittent lock/unlock situation then you either have a FOB transmission problem or the door function/security processor could be the problem. The FOB and the car "search" for each other when they are within 10Feet +/- of each other meaning there is battery drain tacking place. You can see this as you approach the car and the puddle lights turn on. This is the same function that arms the door handle open capability. Most of these issues are FOB/battery related.
