Default Manual shifting

does anyone here uses the manual shifting(Tiptronic or whatever its called) ? I find it truely useless coming from a manual transmission car. im still trying to find a benefit of using it as it seems the car changes the gears itself anyway. Am i missing something here?

yes, its pretty useless if you are looking for stick shift inspired driving... i've used it may be 2-3 times. Brakes are cheaper than new engine so i use brakes instead of engine braking if i need to slow down

other than passing (who passes anymore ) I sometimes use it in slow bumper to bumper traffic; i put it in 2nd and find i can control the forward movement better than relying on the auto continually going up and down

it is not normal. it seems that you have a problem with transmission unfortunately... id have it scanned/checked by the knowledgeable repair shop.
