Default Seat Moves Automatically

07 ES 350.......

Driver Seat has been acting crazy. When you open the driver side door to get in, the seats automatically move ALL the way back and ALL the way down, almost crushing our 4 year old daughter who sits back there. I reset the memory, but it just keeps moving again.

I searched the threads and found a "code" to reset the seats (up up down down left right left right B A type of thing), but it didn't help or maybe I did it wrong.....

Anyone else experience something like this?

Thanks!

My 2008 did that when I picked up from Lexus repair for seat repairs. Stopped after 2 days. Now I miss the feature of the seat moving and was told that the car doesn't have that feature at all. ???

You should reset the key memory.

Even though Lexus told me the feature doesn't exist? Does your 2007 automatically move the seat when you get in or start the car?

Thank you!!!

Yes, so if you have 2 keys for two drivers, you can link the key with the seat memory, your is linked in a wrong position.

Personalized settings has a choice of full seat retraction (what you are currently experiencing) or a partial seat retraction when you turn off engine. You need to change this setting. Drivers.lexus.com will have a list of these settings for your specific model. You might need to have the dealer reset this for you if it's not adjustable on your nav screen settings. Or use an OBD app like Carista with an OBD bluetooth adapter.

I can't find that information on Lexus and dealer said it doesn't exist for 2008. I'm the original owner and I'm sure it worked in the past. I am not losing my mind . . . I think

It's called Driver's Seat Easy-exit Slide. It's possible it is only on later models. drivers.lexus.com and enter your vin number should give you the list of personalized settings. Dealers don't always know the answer, Many members here can confirm that.

I think the key memory is the more likely issue here. I have mine set to remember my position so if somebody changes the seat settings it always resets back to mine when I unlock the driver door.

I would try creating a new seat memory for the preferred seat position and then link that new memory with your smart key. There is instructions in the owner’s manual on how to link them together.
