I hear a starnge hissing sound (gerrrrrrrr) when my car touches 5000rpm and it goes away as I move to higher rpm.... As soon as gear changes and agian I reach 5000rpm it makes the same noice. Can anyone please help me? No sound between 1000-4500rpm and above 5000rpm. Sound only comes between 4500-5000rpm. Please help

I've noticed a slight hissing noise from mine, but I've got aftermarket intake and exhaust. The hissing on mine starts at a much lower RPM, but I haven't noticed any symptoms or engine codes that indicate an engine/trans issue. I'm guessing I have a very slight exhaust leak, but I still haven't climbed under there to check.

Just because we view your post doesn't mean we know the answer and are refusing to reply. I, for one, am curious of the solution in case it happens to our car.

I would check the flap inside the intake manifold that
opens when you hit 4000 rpm.
