Uneven wear of brakes

I have a question about brake pads. Yesterday I changed rear pads on my 2011 es350 and one side was almost to the metal and the other side was like new. Anyone knows why?

Maybe a hanging caliper. Regreasing the slide bolt may help. Have you seen a decrease in MPG?

I did not notice any change in MPG, I will watch it and see.
