I am the first owner of an ES which I bought in 2008 in Long Island from a Lexus dealer. I have always kept it outside and not maintained it much but brought it to the car wash every few months. Two years ago the paint of the roof, and the two front side panels have become dull (picture attached; can provide more). You can see it from far away and I wonder what the reason could be. I brought it to a body shop and they said that it was poorly painted initially. Lexus did not really say much but stated that I was out of warranty.

Could someone please comment if this very uncommon and what my next steps should be.

That looks to be a bad REpaint which would likely indicate previous damage. Fuzzy picture though. The fender has a lot more oxidation than the hood.

I'm not sure what disclosure laws are for new cars, but I have heard that some can be damaged during shipping and then quickly repainted before the dealer ever sees it.
