Did you replace the torque conv?
I bet it is the ECU.

i believe the transmission came with a torque converter but have not looked at the ECM yet and there is no codes could it be the Body control madual BCM ??

Did they replace the fluid in the replacement transmission? How old and how many miles were on it? Did they reprogram the ECU for it?

Change the transmission fluid AND the filter, if it had not been done as scheduled. Filters get clogged up over time but dealers do not recommend to change them for whatever reason. Since the tray should be removed, a transmission pan gasket should also be replaced. I paid $22 for the gasket in Canada, which means it is ~$18 in the States. I bought the AT filter in the States for $85 (actually it comes with a cheap rubber gasket - I do not recommend to use it). Toyota part is a silicone gasket - you will see the difference in quality right away. I think a private mechanic charged me between 1 and 1.5 hours for the job... I did it almost 3 years ago - cannot remember the details.

Try this before you start paying the dealer big bucks for diagnostics and coffee & cookies...
Good luck!
