08 Pebble Beach or 10?
Hello All,
New to the forum and I'm in the market for used ES. I saw an 08 Pebble Beach for $13k with 50k miles and it comes with navi, heated and ventilated seats, rain sensing wipers, back up camera, adaptive headlights and parking assistance. Was wondering if that is a good deal or not. Also how does it compare to the Ultra besides the extra moon roof? I also see a 2010 Luxury package for $15k with 60k miles. I know they did a refresh on this year on exterior and updated the navi to HD probably worth the extra $2k to get the new model? |
FWIW, I have an 09 Pebble Beach edition and it's really just a label. It has features identical to many other non Pebbles Beach ESs. It really just comes with seat extenders (which I think other ESs have), different floor mats, a painted on pinstripe (I removed mine), and a small badge on both front fenders. When bought new, you could choose an add on item like golf clubs.

seat extender is not common in regular ES. it comes only with pebble beach or ultra. pebble beach edition has unique exterior colors

Take the Ultra.

Ask for the maintenance records and then go from there. If both vehicles seem well maintained, take the 2010. It's newer, more features and only 10k more miles. At a $2K price difference it seems worth it.
And yes, the seat extender was available on just about all trim levels except the base (which I have but don't miss). |
Both of the cars are 2nd owner and there is no dealer service history on both cars on the 2nd owners. should I just keep looking and wait for one that have all the service history from the dealer? I also see a lot of 2007 with 150k+ miles for like $8000 range how much life you guys think it have left?

If you get the vin you can go to lexus driver and registerXmas there you can look up to see what the dealer has done to the cars.
|
that's what i did with those two cars.
|
I would not buy if there is no service history; ask the dealer if there are maintenance records from the 2nd owner from any independent shops, if not, keep looking, they made 50-70,000 units a year so don't settle.

Thats what it seems like on all the cars I see on craigslist. For example if the car have 80k miles I am only able to see the first 10-20k miles that were service at the dealership anything after that is most likely done at local shops. it is pretty difficult to find one that is all done at the dealership. most of the ES I see on ebay/auto trader are priced very high.

Just because it hasn't been dealer maintained doesn't mean it hasn't been maintained. I got my 05 es 330 from my grandmother and she got it with 12k miles from the dealer and they used it for what everest because the dealer was the first owner. After 30k miles she took it to my cousins shop an had it taken care of there. She also didn't keep the receipts.
