Lexus Smart Card Key (Credit Card Key)
Hi Team,
I have a Lexus ES350 2007 and I would like to get a Lexus Smart Card Key, Credit Card Key looking FOB. Does anyone knows if this will work with 2007 ES350. Thank You Ziggy |
I too would be interested to know if this works.

dealer MSRP is between $250 - $290 depending on the year/model they sell for $200 - $300 on ebay. there are literally a dozen different part numbers for different models, years, operating frequencies. the ECU of the car has to have a compatible encryption for it, it works different than a normal keyfob. I just went through all the hoops to find the correct one for my 2015 RCF and am having it programmed in 2 weeks when I get my oil change. I know they work on most models 2008 and higher, I can't speak to models earlier than when they were released, 2008 was the year the device was introduced by Lexus. |

Thank You Ziggy Does anyone at all have any confirmation of this yet by chance? Ive finally hit a wall with the research. FCC ID's are very close: Fob - HYQ 14AAB Card - HYQ 14ABB |
Hi guys,
I have a 2017 NX and just found an old key from my old RX. Any chance it can be programmed to work with the NX? Dealership says the smart card key can only be programmed once. |

Dealership says the smart card key can only be programmed once. as I recall what has to happen is the Dealer has to erase all the keys from your ECU, then they can be reprogramed. you can't add an already programmed key without wiping out all the existing keys from the ECU, you can add a new (aka blank) key, but not "rewrite" an existing key without that step. So yes it can be done, but it takes a bit of work on the part of the tech.. Also keep in mind that your older key may not be the same part number as the new key, and if it doesn't contain the same FCC ID and Frequency, it will probably not work, as I stated above, the ECU has to have the correct encryption system for the FCC ID. also you will have to have the slim key in the fob replaced and cut to match your existing vehicle. |
Years late to the party, I'm wondering if anyone got this to work on a 2007 es350?
I had programmed the Lexus key card for my 2017 tacoma, but there were a lot of people that learned a lot before me to help out! Would really love to have a key card again! |
