ES350 and oil cooling line rupture
Can anyone tell me did the 2007 ES350 suffer from the oil cooling hose rupture like the RX did or did they build it with metal hoses?

Thanks. My service records do not indicate it was replaced but it also says that I don't have any recalls and the only campaign is the internal trunk lever. VVTI has been replaced however. So just call a Lexus dealer and they will replace free of charge?

I misunderstood. I thought you were referring to the VVTI. it's good that yours was replaced. Not sure about the oil cooling hose.

I'm sure that the OP is referring to a TSB that addresses oil seepage (or worse) from an engine oil cooler flex hose on engine oil cooler equipped RX 350 vehicles (and some other 2GR-FE powered Toyota vehicles). The engine oil coolers were used on "Trailer Package" equipped vehicles. As far as I know there were no "Trailer Package" factory equipped ES 350s. Mind you, the OP should verify that his car does have the ALL METAL rear bank VVT oil pipe installed on his car.

i just lost my engine last weekend due to same oil line leak. Could have been prevented only if the person driving noticed d engine stall and all d lights popping up on the dash, to park the car and have it towed. however he kept driving for about 7-10 mins and then engine shuts off and fries...

Not that i am aware off. The service records/history doesn't mention so and I haven't done it myself either since it was a used car.
Currently looking at a replacement engine. Any tips and ideas in addition to the fact that i have to make sure a metal oil line is used this time...lol

We got lucky. Oil line ruptured on wife's 07 ES350 about a mile from house. She noticed the oil light as she was driving up our street. Turned out to be about two qts low. That was about 50K miles ago and engine is running smoothly and not burning any oil. It appears we avoided damage to the engine.
BTW, is Toyota still reimbursing? Ours blew before the recall, but I have to dig out the receipts and recall notice.

I have to tell you, in Canada this was a mandatory recall, and it sure should be here. If you need this recall done, DO IT or you could seize up your engine. It seems that Toyota and Lexus have been negligent and cutting corners in other areas as well, such as the air bags. I am also waiting to have the airbag replaced, got mail notice last week and called Lexus today. Their reply, "You have to wait until we get parts", When will that be? "we don't know yet". Great.... Well how about a fix for dyi's to remove the damn thing then so we can use the front seat? Effing idiots.
Another item of stupidity is their sealed transmission oil system. If you don't change this at EVERY 45-60K miles, you are asking for it to fail, and they won't pay for your replacement. I did replace the tranny oil at 75k, and it was already burnt...cannot imagine waiting longer.
I don't think my next car is going to be a Toyota. Maybe Tesla.
