Default Turn off engine, keep on electronics?

I know that if you hit the engine button without the brake pedal pressed when you get in the car you can turn on electronics (radio, navigation etc) without turning on the engine. I want to know if it's possible to go from the engine being on directly to electronics on mode without turning the car off and then turning them on. Thanks.

Put car in neutral. Press start button to turn off engine and keep electronics on.

Dont forget to shift into park.

That's a cool tip! I'll try it later. Thanks.

I actually never knew about it until I read about it here on the forum. We had a tips and tricks thread floating around here somewhere.

Honestly I'd just press the button the extra 2 times. Id rather taking the 1 second to do that then to have my car hit a curb or something when I forget im in neutral.

Yes, good point regarding safety. Foot on the brakes, or apply the parking brake first.

I could see doing this only when I'm testing mods/stereo. I find it wasteful for the steering wheel to retract and return with I hit the ignition button twice. (small thing, I know)

Thanks for the tip!.
