Default ES350 Tail Light Removal - Replacement

Today I had a minor encounter with a tree, I thought I was clear of but apparently I was wrong. Because of the angle the Parking Sensors and camera did not pick it up and I was watching the other mirror to avoid my other car. I have humbled myself.

I thought I would tackle the removal myself and did not find a good description on-line. So here's a video of the process. It is rather straight forward and easy total time is about 15 minutes (depending on how much crap you keep in your trunk).

Remove the mat and spare tire cover.
Remove the tool kit, after freeing the elastics at the jack gently lift out the Styrofoam shelf.
pop out the plastic bulb cover
remove the hook for the package webbing (8mm bolt)
Pry out the small retention plug below it
Unbolt the ring for the package webbing (10mm) bolt
lift (straight) up on the Black trunk lip, you do not need to remove it. Just get it out of the way so the light trim can be pulled back
Remove the 3 light bulbs -1/4 turn to the left and they pop right out
Remove 3 10mm bolts holding the assembly in place
The unit will slide STRAIGHT back to remove.
Just reverse for reassembly

As a follow up.

I decided to use a Lexus replacement after reading about color match problems with after market units.
I called my local dealer and he wanted $300, I was not happy.

I called SEWELL Lexus (Dallas) and snagged the part for $246.83 including shipping.
Turned out the quotes I got for used parts were very close or higher, which made the decision to buy new pretty easy.

Just wanted to give credit to one of the forums sponsors.

If you wanted it even cheaper you should've ordered it yourself online with the clublexus discount. As far as I know they are unable to give you the same sort of discount when you call in.
