Default Help buying 2011 Es350 ASAP (tom)

Hi all thanks for help in advance. Ive been planning on buying a Lexus es350 for a while and found a great deal but The seller already has buyers and I need to make a decision tom (2/26).

Its a 2011 es350 with all features (has rear shade/navigation and I'm pretty sure that includes all options expcept panoramic roof- please correct me if I'm wrong). I don't know what other features specifically until I see it tom am so I based this off of what I could find online. Its a 2011 es350 with 5,000 miles. It is a water damaged car (Basically up to carpets). Price is $21500. Seller is trust worthy (friend of a friend). Car cosmetically is 9/10.

I wanted to know what the major differences are between 2011 model and the next generation. From your exp. would you wait to buy the new model, are there any problems, any regrets, imorovments? The car is 2011 so I believe there is one generation after it. Any input would be really appreciated. Thanks!

My only input is that personally I would not buy a water damaged car even if it seems like a good deal. With water damage, unless you have it closely inspected you just don't know the extent of the damage. I'm guessing any remaing factory warranty would be voided, but not 100% sure.

Good luck with your decision.

I agree with LexBob2. No way I'd buy a water damaged car. If they are willing to admit it was 'basically up to the carpet', it was higher. Run away, run away.

Yea I'm going to see it mainly. But I was planning on buying a 2011 generation regardless. Any of input on that generation?

2011 is a good year and series. Pretty reliable and nice riding car. Only other option that would make a difference would be the radio. As to water damage was it salt water or fresh water. Is the title clear or is it a salvage title. Does all of the electrical systems work and have you inspected under the car. If you got water up to the carpets do the seats still work. This is a high risk car but if you are handy you should be able to fix things as they break. If water got into any of the processors then I would not even look at it.
