Thanks for the posts....

Wow - super-easy. Called the dealer and they had one in stock. Ran picked it up and followed the instructions in the appendix of the Navigation System Owner's Manual and replaced it in about 2 minutes

Thanks again - saved me about $100 in labor.

I got my new disc today, dealer wanted $199 if I let them do it, I did it myself, all you have to do is eject the old disc and insert the new one, the car does the rest

Default Installed my own DVD disc

Just bought and installed the Map DVD upgrade in my 2008 ES350. I bought it at Grapevine Lexus. The cost was:
DVD = 169.00
Tax = 13.94
Total = 182.94

Was super easy to install, Dealer wanted $100.00 to do it.
I set out in the parking lot of the dealer and did it in 7 minutes.

If you live within driving range of Houston, I just had the 12.1 usb update installed for $199.00 at Northside Lexus on I-45 north. Ask for Bobbie. Long drive but worth it, very good service.

Sounds like a decent price vs. what some other dealers are charging for labor for the installation. How long did it take?

Not hurting,just greedy.
That's why dealerships have the nickname stealerships.

About an hour-ish. They were pretty busy.

I updated my navigation DVD last week and I was very simple to do. I went to the parts department at my local Lexus dealership and purchased it. When I got home I got the Navigational Manual that came with all my Lexus Warranty manuals, etc. In the very back of the manual you will find the instructions Lexus gives to update your system by yourself. Very simple to do as they even show pictures with the instructions. Good luck.

Not bad. My dealership said 30-45 minutes.

Unfortunate that the 2010+ models have to go into the shop for the update.
