XM Renewal Question
What most likely happens is that it gets renewed automatically on people's credit cards and if they are not vigilant, then they get the higher rates. $7 or so per month sounds a lot better than $14 per month.
it's really about getting to a price point where you see value in the product or serv. forget about royalties, can play with #'s all day long. I'm sure there are several thousands $$s of features built into your own car or want to own that you seldom use but still felt the investment was worth while. Just my thoughts.

I've never understood why folks pay the extra cash for the built-in NAV and then complain about it. It has never left me stranded and has always been pretty accurate. The biggest advantage to me is that it is large enough to see easily, and of course comes with the rear camera.
There is nothing inherently wrong with a hundred buck Garmin, and there was nothing to keep you from buying one.

It's not so much the NAV itself,it's the lockout.I do have a Garmin and the wife and I use it along with the in dash NAV at times. We use the Garmin for Points of Interest stops rather than having to pull over or do the voice thing which takes too long..

The wife's CR-V factory NAV lets you do on the fly inputs which is great.Honda has the lockout on the '12's,though..
