If you are talking about the lid with all the never open warnings, it is called a radiator cap. Did you lose yours?

bigbody305 Sep 13, 2011 03:22 PM

no im talking about the black piece under it, its plastic with the X or star design. looks like its a cap or something

bigbody305 Sep 13, 2011 03:22 PM

look at the first pic, its clearly sticking out and im pointing at it in another photo

its the piece under the coolant radiator cap. its leaking coolant fluid

thats actually part of the radiator neck assembly, but it's not repairable and
trying to jb weld it or something won't work. You need a new radiator.

I don't know how this happened but I agree - you need a new radiator which won't be cheap.

And how did it happen?

Well before I'd spring for a new radiator I'd get one of those double-syringe tubes of 5 minute expoxy. I'd mix the whole thing at once and glue the bejeezus out of that cap. It doesn't need to be pretty, just water tight. It should hold if you roughen up the areas you're sealing with sandpaper first.

If it leaks again then you're only out the $5 for the glue (well, plus any new coolant).

well i did some ghetto **** for now lol i put zip ties in angles to hold it down and applied jb weld over it, its still leaking a tad bit because it hasent fully dried but they are litterally tiny drops. my coolant tank hasnt even lost fluid. i put it on like at 12am last night but still kinda gooey. i will apply more tonight when im not driving and i think its a fix vs a radiator

A quick look at online shows a range from $159 to $247 for an ES350 radiator with free shipping.

It looks like either a blow out plug or something needed for the injection mold of the part. It also can be for another radiator application. I would go to a radiator shop and see what they suggest. Either the plug is welded or press fit so they should know how to repair it.
