I had the ES on a several hour trip and my bad back was fine during and after. The rest of the car was quite impressive.

When driving my wife's Lexus on a road trip I use the lumbar cushion I use daily in my vehicle and I'm fine.
What Jmarr mentions about seat angle cured me. I drove with my seat layed back for 500,000+ miles until my back was "mush".... Needing a minivan for my job saved my back literally.
Face it you need a different vehicle.
Good Luck!
I agree with John U. At least for me I have to ride with the seat laid back a little further then I am used to. I have the UL edition with the leg extension and of course lumbar. I put the seat laid back just a little and just a little lumbar support and I'm good to go. I just got back to San Antonio from a 5,600 mile road trip/vacation. I even slept in the car on one particularly cold night in Yellowstone - slept like a baby.

Good luck.

Good old Bobbie never responded. Looks as though the salesman was an uninformed as he was on the windshield wiper positions. Apparently neither one has read the manual. As far as the seat comfort, I think after riding in vans, pickups, nissan pathfinder, and other rocks with wheels, good old Bob never encountered comfort and therefore his back rebelled when it missed the pounding.
