Help! Transfering phonebook to car

Help! I just got a Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 2 phone. It appears to have paired successfully with my Lexus. However, I cannot transfer the phonebook no matter what I've tried. Does anyone here know what to do or what I'm not doing?

I had similar problems with my previous phone---sometimes it would be paired and the phonebook was transfered, then suddenly it would be dropped.

Please help!

Do you have Nav? And what year is the car?

It's a 2010 ES with navigation. I took it to the Verizon store today and one of the service people helped me transfer the phonebook. This was after I tried three or four times!

But I want to say that I'm not sure it's going to last or if the Bluetooth pairing will last. It seems there is a problem with Bluetooth and devices, not limited to Lexus.

If it happens again, I will report back here.

What did the Verizon people do to transfer the phonebook? I have a 2008 LS460 and I cannot transfer my phonebook. I have Nav as well. I am able to connect my bluetooth and talk through the speaker system. I have a DROIDX phone.

2010 has Gen 6 nav and is different than your 08 Gen 5 system. The Gen 6 will pull contacts from the phone and on an adroid phone, you'll see a "PBAP" notification at the top. Swipe your screen down and allow the car access and you should be fine. On a Gen 5 nav system you have to "push" the contacts from the phone to the car while the car is trying looking for them. So, your phone has to have a transfer contacts, send name cards, etc. in order to transfer contacts. Or there may be an app on the market to push contacts via bluetooth.

I recently purchased a used 2008 Lexus LS 460 with the upgraded Levinson sound system. Can you upgrade the phone system to accept a larger phone book and better usability? The car will not accept more than 1000 phone book entries, but my recently purchased 2012 Genesis does and with it all you need to say is, "call Joe Smith" and it does so. I have to believe the newer Lexuses have a more user friendly system with a larger phone book capacity. Thanks!

Maurice68. I have an 09 ES and a Droid X phone. I downloaded the app Bluetooth file transfer from the marketplace and I was able to upload my contact file no problem in under 5 minutes.

On another Bluetooth topic, I had to edit contacts and add a voice tag (recorded their name) to have the dial by name option to work by voice command for each contact. Did anyone come up with another way. This seems tedious.

Thanks
