Does 2010 and 2011 ES350 Have the cold start engine noise that is on the 2007, 2008,2009's
I'm looking now to trade up from my 2007 ES350 with 65000 miles and with 100K
extended warranty.
If they have same tapping, knocking noise I think I will look elsewhere.

 

I don't think so - it was easy to hear on cold morning on my 2007 and I have heard nothing thru two cold seasons and 15K miles on my 2010.

Same here. The 2010 is quieter than the 2007 when cold.

 

I just bought a 2011 and it has been in the teens. Didn't hear any tapping,knocks,pings etc....

 

I believe after a number of attempts by Lexus at fixing this noise, they finally attributed it to cam gearing problem that required replacement. I assume that the later model (2010 and later) have different components... At least I hope so since I have a 2011.

 

Yes - dealer is replacing my 2007 cam actuator under warranty - cold start issue - hope it works.

 

Was this replacement done under TSIB? Or was it that you had an especially responsive dealer?
