Default Cruise Control Malfunction

Hi All, Bought a CPO 08 ES350 about a year ago. Found this site and have been lurking and learning. When I set the cruise to 70, it stays right on 70 going up hill, but goes up to 10 mph over 70 going down a long steep hill. The 2002 Maxima I traded in for this Lexus did not vary 1 mph going up or down the same hills. Had Lexus dealer check it out when it was in for an oil change. They said they could find nothing wrong with it. Anyone else have this problem? Still a great car and a great forum. I tried the search function, but could not come up with anything. Have a great day.

I noticed the same thing. Maybe it is a reduced amount of rolling resistance with the ES350.

That's normal as far as I know.

I wonder if downshifting to the "manual" mode would help keep the speed down without resetting the cruise control.

And welcome to Club Lexus.

Thanks for the feedback. Will try the manual downshift if ever the snow goes away.
I try to leave it in the garage when the weather is bad.
