I tried using the napa part to mount it from underneath.

Unfortunately, the 'L' mount + frame + license plate is becoming quite
heavy and not as aesthetic as i thought it would be.

So, i just decided to go with the lexus bracket and drilling the holes.

I noticed that the lexus bracket is actually wider than the license plate
itself. Are there 2 versions of the bracket ?

I agree and I am planning to put up the license plate one way or the other .

Now, why would lexus make a 13" bracket for a 12" US license plate standard

If I hadn't thrown mine away I would give it to you for Christmas. I see cars with front license plates and have never noticed the holder being larger than a U.S. plate. Drilling the bumper is sad but if you live in a state that requires a front plate I guess no harm is done.

Somebody must have one they can send you.

My idea is still an option. It fits the width of the plate perfectly

Can you post a picture of it installed?

I live in NJ and ppl love not putting front plates and I agree it looks way better but it is what it is not the end of the world to have a front plate on a lexus. My father retired to DR and they don’t have front plates so I got him a nice Hillux plate for the front of his truck. To me it looks way worse to have a plate wedged in between the windshield and your dash. If I had an exotic I probably wouldn’t want to drill a hole into the bumper of it but on the other hand if I was a cop that would be one of my peeves I’d go after along with ppl that change lanes without putting on the blinkers.

The ones that get me aren’t the ones that change lanes without signalling as much as it is the ones that change lanes without looking!

Dude I drive a work van with ladders up top and you have no idea how many idiots decide it’s a good idea for them to cut off this fully loaded heavy van with crappy brakes at the last possible second with no warning at all.

I used 3M tape the red one and it been now two years without any problem. Beside it looks nice without the holder.
