DIY: Lexus ES350 Footwell Lighting
Ok, part finally got in and I did it, I hated the non-led footwell lighting, esp because you couldn't see it at night, or barely even see it.
Hardness scale: 2; [1-10 (Easy-Hard)] Part #: 81080-22040 Amt Needed: 2 of the above part numbers Cost: Approximately $40 Directions: 1. Order the Parts from your local dealer! http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7346.jpg 2. Secondly you need to locate the lights underneath the steering column (L) and underneath the glovebox (R). See below Left: http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7347.jpg Right: http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7349.jpg 3. Let's work on the left side first; Just place your thumb on the light itself and push upwards hard. The light should pop out, and it should look like this... http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7353.jpg 4. Unplug the light and put one of your lights in....then it should look like this! http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7354.jpg 5. Reorient the light back to the original position, and push the light back into place (its going to be a hard push) http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7355.jpg 6. Go to the right side of your car (this part is just a tad bit harder) 7. Locate the light underneath the right side 8. Remove the rubber cover from the light (it is just covering the outside of the light). It just looks like below... http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7357.jpg 9. On the left corner, of the bottom most covering, pull strongly where the bottom panel and the glovebox panel meets. http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7358.jpg 10. The panel should come down at that corner, and continue to slide your hands along the edge towards the right of the car until the whole panel comes out. Right Corner http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7359.jpg 11. The middle of the panel should look like this... http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7360.jpg 12. Remove the light and plug in the new light, replace the light in the same place. 13. Make sure when you put the panel back you put the panel ends back into the two holes you see in the back (insert pun in here) http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7361.jpg 14. Put the rubber cap back on 15. Pau! (All done) After Pictures http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7364.jpg http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7365.jpg http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ekwlee/ebay/IMG_7366.jpg |

are u planning to do the green lights as well? |
Pash..I wish..need to do more research first..I'd rather do the steering wheel control first (change it to the 2010) first

Hate to revive an old thread but will these lights work?
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/C...viewsTabAnchor My RX330 has the same setup but I was wondering if I can get these LED lights to fit in the stock ones. |
Now let's get started on replacing those rubber sandals.
