Toyota/Lexus do a good job of keeping new models under wraps until they are ready to show them.

^^ Yes I've heard almost nothing about the next ES. Since it isn't really an enthusiast car there isn't really anyone looking for test mules of it and searching for leaks (in regards to auto publications).

I fully expect a hybrid this generation and the same formula to be used.

No matter what people say about the es, it is still one of my favorite cars and im sure the next one will just as good if not better then the previous ones. I've driven every generation es but the 99-01 is still my favorite to drive

I personally believe you have can a luxury model AWD, and have a sport designed AWD luxury car. I don't understand why you can't put AWD as an option. It doesn't have to drive or feel like a sports car, but it should have the feature.

If it looks anything like the new Toyota Avalon, I will be happy.

I predict there will be a V6-hybrid version of the ES next year - it's long overdue. The ES will also likely inherit the Remote Touch (joystick) navigation system controller and the updated body electronics (e.g. windows that slow down as they near top/bottom, user settable configurations via nav screen), HUD, LKA, etc. It'll be interesting to see if they de-content the car (e.g., seat memory buttons only on driver door instead of driver & passenger, smart entry only on front door handles instead of all four, donut spare tire, more hard plastics, deletion of rear reading lights, etc.). I think that with the competition from the Sonata & Genesis they will keep the interior materials quality where it is but delete a few features they think no one will notice in order to keep the pricing competitive. With the falling Dollar versus Yen, I wouldn't be surprised if the ES manufacturing moves from Japan to Canada to keep profits constant w/o raising the price. They already make the RX there, and the two vehicles are mechanically similar.

To accommodate the Remote Touch controller, the interior dash will require a complete redesign, so I predict a dashboard that looks somewhat reminiscent of that in the RX which got updated recently. The exterior design of the car still looks fresh and appealing to the target demographic (conservative entry luxury buyer), so my guess is it won't change a whole lot - new lights, grill, and wheels, plus a few changes to the character lines on the side to sportify the appearance a tad like they did with the new RX. Who knows, maybe they'll add a bangle-butt design like the BMW to spiff things up

My guess is that they will add direct injection.

Default gs350 vs. m37

If the ES doesn't float your boat with fwd for luxury ride and comfort, then the g37 offers much more than the gs with more room and horsepower...better ride and price.. just my opinion.
