Put a deposit down on an 08 w/ nav

I will be heading up to CLE on saturday to pick the car up with my wife.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus...t_23615wt_1165

I expect the ebay auction will be taken down in the next few hours as we came to a deal over the phone. $22,350.

I sold our old 745i for $10,500 last week so my wife has a rental car this week until we can head up to pick up the car.

I will post more photos when we get it back to Kentucky. :woot:

My wife had a very specific car in mind.
Gray
Black int
Nav
Heated / Cooled seats

When we get the car it will have 15% ceramic tint installed
Clearbra Installed
and the manual nav hack will be done.

Nice! Congratulations!
Looks like the car was meticulously maintained and one owner. I like the option set too.
I was following this seller on Ebay for some time, before buying my ES locally.
They have really nice cars most of the time - no fishy deals there.
Good luck and hope your wife enjoys it.

Would you guys suggest a warranty?
I do my own work but should I be worried about any big jobs on the car?
We will have 100k on the car in just over a year

Tough call. You'll ride out that extended warranty on miles so quickly.
I'll definitely get one when the time is up - next Summer.
But I only drive ~15 kmi/year.
I realize that you are good with the wrenches yourself, but still why not spend some money on an independent trustworthy mechanic, specializing in Toyotas. Let him take a close look at all systems, before deciding on the wararnty. Some repairs sound simple but run in many hundreds of dollars, like replacing engine mounts, for example.

The estimate for clearbra on the hood, fender, and mirrors was $250.
For the bumper alone they want $650 !!!
has anyone had the clearbra installed on the front bumper?

For that money you can get your bumper cover repainted TWICE. Or maybe even buy brand new bumper cover.
Bumper cover also does not chip that easily, being made of flexible plastic.
Save your money now, skip the clearbra on this.

only problem I have with buying a car over the internet .is that . you cannot SMELL the car.. he he.. and also test DRIVE it.. by now, you must have test driven 3-4 pre owned ES.s so you know what is a good ride and what is not.. hope this works out for you. price looks V good... miles a bit high.. and it is an EARLY 08..

Buy the Lexus Platinum Extended Warranty online. Deals abound for this online versus dealer.

I need to do that before 50k right?

garsarno Sep 11, 2010 04:11 AM

Absolutely. Go to your local Lexus dealer, ask what is available for your car (time / miles) and the price. Then search our history for discussions regarding the Platinum Warranty. There are Lexus dealers that are willing to work with smaller profit margins versus local ones. In my case, I printed the quote received ($800 less that the local Lexus dealer quoted), showed him the quote and he matched it.
