ES350 Vandalized...

We purchased a CPO Lexus ES350 thursday and today someone smashed a shopping cart into the front bumper and the rear bumper has 2 key marks.
Happened at a grocery store the car was parked in the back. The front bumper has a gouge and a nasty dent. I hate people. The camera was "not" working in that part of the lot. :egads:

Ouch that sucks. Hopefully your insurance will take care of you.

Man that sucks big time...why would someone do something like that??... I tell you there are too many people who are just plain wasted. I hope you can get it back to looking like nothing never happened...I'm sure you can...stay positive...

if its not too much damage you might wanna doit out of pocket. when you go to sell the car or worse trade it they take thousands off because if this. Plus your insurance will go up. On our previous fully loaded accord after 3 mos of owning on new years eve someone musta thrown a bear bottle up in the air and it dented the roof perty good about the size of a golf ball. I had the insurance cover it and after a year my insurance doubled. also when i just traded it in on this new lexus they looked it up and saw it and woudnt give me as much. I would think to spray 2 panels or so should be about 500 bucks. I have a good friend that has a body shop so from now on if its not major he's getting the work :)

My grey ES got keyed from the front door to the rear quarter panel twice in the past few weeks in my driveway, right down to the white primer paint. I covered it with touch-up paint, and it's not too horribly noticeable. Is it necessary for the entire panel to be repainted, or can a body shop just paint the scratch and blend the paint into the surrounding areas of the panel? I prefer to minimize the amount of aftermarket paint on my car.

IMO if it's down to the primer more than likely the entire panel will have to be repainted. A body shop would definitely want to go this route. and you do want it done 'professionally'... Your insurance should cover the damage under vandalism...or comprehensive. Check with them. Question, do you have any enemies in your neighborhood or maybe someone you may have had a run-in with recently??
