Default Door Bottom Trim

2010 models have the chrome bottom trim on the doors. Does anybody know where to get what is shown on the 2009?

I had heard that this was available as an aftermarket item but don't know where you might get it - it looks like it might be a little thinner than the 2010 factory trim which I believe you could just purchase from your Lexus dealer, (at a substantial price I'm sure) and have it installed. I think someone here may have done that or at least looked into it a while back.

I bought some based on how well it looked on the picture, however in real life they are definetely not good enough, I am familar with window tinting and have done a few the light tinting on the tail lights so I can say I am pretty good at pushing out all the excessive air to make the film/tape as smooth as possible. But these crome tapes will bend and gives off reflection where you can easily spot the flaw, so if you just want to play around to see how your car may look with the chrom sills, its not bad to spend $5 and give it a try, but I am sure once you put it on, you will want to take it off right away, haha..

So now I am considering either the factory ones or the plates made professionaly (from those two sites I have posted earlier......)

I've looked into those websites and wonder if the trim is a solid aluminium or stainless steel plated with chrome, i want to real thing and not some urethane or plastic materials.

Anybody have those trims installed ?

On RonUSA, you will have discount of 10%, it is very tempting, but they don't have pictures of the item even though the Ebay review are very good.

What is the difference of stainless steel polish to a chrome shine vs simply stainless steel triple chrome plated ??

Any thoughts ?

I had the bottom door molding on my 2008 ES, painted same chrome colour as are the wheels. It was done by proffesional body painter and it really looks good. The trick is, the molding must be very carefully removed from the door thus the clips don't get broken.

In this case, a real chrome would stand-out better than silvery-chrome paint.
Check it out on other lexus forum for more ideas...Good luck...
