VAIS Technology MultiMediaLinQ

I'm thinking about getting the MultiMediaLinQ from Vias Tech. Has anyone installed this in their ES350? Was it a hard install? How does it work and sound?

i did, pm me for help if you desire, it took me about an hour since that is my first time doing it. Putting the unit is the hardest for me since the cord is very short and the hole under the radio is too narrow to squeeze in, but i did.

Work perfectly and sound good, the flaw is the organization of the files with only folders, no subfolders.

Here's a helpful hint - see Sonartech's writeup on how to take out the center stack. It's the first post under the sticky "HOW TO: Access Cal, Phone, Music Folder Access and Maintenance menus while driving... ".

While your not going to do the modification for the Nav override, it does tell you how to take out the center stack to gain access to the back of the audio, nav etc. The detailed instructions start down the page at "Step 1". Look at the the diagrams. The most difficult part is removing the air vents above the center stack, just be careful and go slow. Also, be sure to put something over your shifter handle - just so you don't scuff or scratch it when you pull the stack out.

Blueshark - sorry I told you to access this all from the side - it's a real pain. That's how I did it back in '07 before I knew about this. I switched out my sirius sat tuner tonight and used Sonartech's method, its really slick and you can get the whole audio/nav center stack out where you can easily access all the connections on the back of it.

The multimedia unit is way to big to squeeze from the side of the center console ??!! i meant installing the unit down under the radio in front of the shifting gears, there's a hole that lead to the firewall.

I had to install a new software load from VAIS Technology and all is working. They have great support and a great product. Thanks again everyone for your recommendations and help.
