Default Rear view mirror auto dimming

Mine doesn't dim enough for me! Yes it is on! Around here there is often some bad driver behind me with his brights on and it is too bright for my old eyes! I liked the old flip lever kind that made head lights looks like dim ghosts! I may have to look for a Toyota manual mirror? Anyone else or is it just me? My 2001 Corvette had the same problem.

Do you have rear sunshade? Works like charm at night.

That's what I do too. The auto-dim mirror isn't nearly dim enough for me either. I'd much ragher have the manual flip kind.

Mine works ok for my tastes, but I used to have a Gen 2 Prius that never seemed to dim enough at night. What I did was to tape a translucent piece of plastic over the light sensor of the mirror that faces the windshield. This made the mirror dimmer under low light conditions. The darker the plastic, the more the mirror will dim. I found the blue plastic label from a water bottle worked perfectly for me.
