Question HomeLink/Genie problem on ES350

I absolutely love my new ES350!! However, I am having a problem programming the Homelink on my car for our garage door opener. We have a Genie with rolling codes. When I programmed the Homelink on my new car, it deactivated the Homelink on our 2006 Dodge Ram. When we reprogrammed the Dodge, then the Lexus Homelink deactivated. After trying it several times, I contacted Homelink and was told that we were probably pushing the "learn" button down too long and to just push it slightly. We tried that, but still can't get Homelink on both cars activated. Only one will take the code and the other car's Homelink deactivates. I had another Lexus before this one and never had any problem with both cars being activated. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas? Thanks.

That sounds correct - holding down the "learn" but is the way to erase all codes from the Genie. It sounds like you are doing everything else correct if each homelink is getting programmed. I'm assuming that any other remote controls are also getting erased and not just the two homelinks. If not something else is going on.

Default Problem Solved!!

Thanks, Dave for your input. OK, my problem is solved. I am posting this in case anyone else has this problem in the future. I spoke with a Genie rep, who told me that the receiver was probably full (it can only hold so many) and that it was thinking it only had one space left and that is why it kept deactivating the other Homelink. She told me to push the "learn" button and hold it for 30 seconds to clear all codes from the receiver. We then had to reprogram everything, but it finally worked on both cars and a handheld remote we have in the RV.

Good info - I may need to do that also. Just picked up my new '09 ES350, replacing my '05 ES330. I tried to program button #1 for my primary garage door and button #2 for the secondary garage door. Thought it was done, but today when I push button #1, BOTH doors open; push #1 again and BOTH close. Push button #2 and just the secondary garage door operates (as I intended it to do). From reading owners manual, seems to indicate it's not possible to erase door opener codes on the ES350, but is possible to re-code over the current entry. Guess I'll try to purge both my receivers and try starting all over again. Anyone have any better solution? Thx.
