Default Mark Levinson no display selection

I have an 2007 ES350 with the upgraded Mark Levinson Discrete 5.1 Surround Sound System, really sounds great, however the system will not display any CD,DVD information, ie Selection, artist, playing time, etc.

Is this typical, for a $4000 Lexus upgrade? The dealer says it is due to copyright issues with Sony.

Noticed that too. We are now spoiled by American cars, who would have thought? But - the ML sound system outperforms my Chevrolet Impala Bose and easily my daughter's Grand Cherokee system.

My 2007 ES350 ML systems displays everything. Try this while playing a song, but you cannot by driving. Press the AUDIO button (on dash to left of screen). Next press on the screen in upper right corner (screen symbol says FOLDER LIST for my home amde CD or TRACK LIST for a commercial CD/DVD). Next press the word FOLDER button in lower left of the screen. In 2-3 seconds you should see what you want six songs at a time.

Check this write up. There may be some info there on displaying song info on the screen and burning your own music CDs.

NOTE: DVDs will not display song info, only home made CDs will.

Here is what you will have to do if you want to display song info while driving.

One more comment to make my explanation clearer. I burned CDs with about 190 songs on each one. I don't use the original CD/DVDs that I have purchased (they will not display on my ML). In this way I can copy my 2-3 or 5-6 favorite songs from each of my music disks. I have even purchased single songs from Amazon and Yahoo for these CDs and I can see the song titles.

Lexus disables everything when you drive: The Nav system, music, phone, calendar, and so forth.
