Garage Door Opener

I attempted to program the garage door using the instruction manual but I can’t get it to work. I do have a rolling code feature and have hit the button and pressed the home link button (3x) in the car but still doesn't work. If you got your garage programmed please let me know how you did it. It’s a 2007 if that makes a difference.

My other vehicle has the same option and I can’t get it to program. My guess is operator error.

I hit the button on the actual garage door opener (the one that lifts the garage). Then did the button pushes in the car.

Since you already programmed the unit in your car, than go into the garage, get up on ladder, and you'll see a red button. Press the red button. Now try the homelink control in your car.

Thank you!

The link you provided helped out. I got the garage programmed in both vehicles now.

Glad to be of service. :)

You helped me too.
I was extremely frustrated.
The owners manual left out some steps that were in the video.

A quick search on this site led me to this thread, problem solved.

Now I just got to do a search on re-attaching a sunvisor after it has been violently ripped from its bracket by my bare hands and straightening it out because it got crumpled. I didn't see how it got crumpled (i.e. blind rage).

Oh, and it looks like it's got some teeth marks in it.

OK, on the same subject. My HomeLink button is working but the range really sucks. It won't open the door until I'm at the driveway whereas the regular handheld opener opens the door almost half block away. On my other Lexus GS, the HomeLink button works great too and is effective at least 1000 feet away. Why the big difference in the effective range? Can I do anything to correct that on this other vehicle with the short range?

Our in-car garage opener works from 1 to 2 houses away with 70 foot lots, if this is of any help.

I tried to program a condo garage opener several times but it never worked. The guys at dealer couldn't even do it. BTW, my house garage works fine. So I was wondering if someone knows what the problem might be?

Homelink range sucks on my car too.

As for the condo garage, it's prolly cuz you need to hit some button on the main unit. Who knows if your condo's garage door opener even has such a button. You might have to ask management if there's some main unit that has a button they push to program all the handheld remotes. You need to push that button and then program the car. As others have mentioned, the instructions in the manual are wrong/incomplete.
