Cleaning Driver/Passanger footwell

Well, I have had the Es350 for awhile now... but there is one thing that has bothered me for quite a long time. The sides of the foot well seem to be brushed. They have horizontal lines running across them. I had small stains on the foot well wall, when I cleaned them it ruined design of the "carpet"?

Is there any particular way to clean the footwell to obtain the original design?
Or must I wallow in my analness?

Note: Not my car. Borrowed picture from amf1932 to show what/where exactly I'm talking about.

erm... the tidiness of your carpet can be easily fixed by either vacuuming it or getting a brush and brushing it i think.... not to insult you or anything.. but i never met anyone that cared so much about how tidy the carpet looked in the car... i find it rather funny... note i said tidy and not clean...:D

Brush some designs and let us see. We can vote on which pattern you should keep. :) It'll sorta be like how groundskeepers groom the grass on baseball fields.

You could do what I do. Take a pair of tweezers and place each strand back to its correct position.
