Question Side-mirror tilting issue??

I am not sure if this is a setup (user-mistake) issue or something went wrong, but since about 3 days ago, the side mirrors don't tilt downwards even if the gear is in R.

Our car is about a week old, and it's been working fine for first a few days.

Not sure if this is some kind of setup/switch issue or something went wrong.

Any ideas?

Check the manual mirror adjustment switch. I may have this backwards, but if the toggle is set on left or right, the mirrors activate when in reverse. If it is in the middle, they don't.

Absolutely. Before you drive the car another mile, sit down for a couple hours and read the car manuals that came with the car. How people can drive a car that sells above $30,000 without understanding how to operate it is beyond me. This is well covered in the car manual as are many of important safety features.

Have you seen the size of these manuals? I'm not gonna hold it against anyone if they didn't read that thick monster of a manual.

Maybe just read that short guide they have, but this is something the sales person should have covered.

This is so true. I was going to post a reply along these lines, but originally declned. But the truth is, these new cars are so sophisticated, you can't really appreciate what it can do for you until you read the manual. It's time consuming, but worth it!

Case in point!

Are you telling me you spend $35 - 40K on a depreciating asset and folks don't need to take the small amount of time to educate themselves on how to operate and maintain that asset?

For $40K, I expect the seller to walk me through basics. Mine did. Went thru car for an hour. Set my mirrors, seat memory, showed me most of the nav, etc.

I didn't need the manual for basic things like the mirror.

If an owner doesn't want to take the time to read the manual, how about using it as a reference guide? When a question comes up, refer to the manual. New cars, especially with a lot of ammenities etc. are complex, but a lot of the answers at at ones finger tips.

I never had a manual that was so thick and needed two books.
