Just looking for a wire
Can't we all just get along?
LOL, I am just looking for a little direction, no need for aggravation. I will just trace it back when I get the chance.

I did not ask your permission to post - or need it. At this point I don't care what your opinion is, so back off. With an attitude like yours I do not doubt you would never get assistance from a tech. If the original poster wants to PM me I will put him in touch with someone at my dealers service department that will help him.

FWIW - In my many travels with deer... Deer whistles are completely ineffective... They commonly produce sounds at frequencies much higher than deer can hear. This is why deer grunt and snort during the rut (mating season) rather than chirp like squirrels, deer are tuned for low frequencies, lol.
At any rate, you could use the Camry FSM to apply the wiring scheme to the ES, I highly doubt Toyota made the poor/rich man's DRL circuit. I last got them here, but the links don't seem to work, I have copies and can email, send me a PM.

Other things I note... If the Whistle is to come on when he flashes the brights....
1. What's the difference between the whistle and the horn?
2. Bright light startles deer, maybe that's the whole problem with him and deer, he brights them and they are startled.
With regard to #1... I don't really suggest this. I have tried the horn before to scare deer and it scared them alright, they tried to run but slipped and were then flopping like crappy on the pavement... I was barreling down on them @75MPH with a trailer, not a pretty sight and I haven't honked since.

Lights are only a switch
PM Sent.
The high beams are only the "switch". A double tap toggles them on/off. So when he pulls out of the driveway, he flashes the high beam twice and the unit comes on and stays on continuously until he either double flashes again or he shuts the car off.
http://www.maxsainnovations.com/products/27509.htm
Whether it works or does not, he wants it and he thinks it works so it is not coming out now...I just need to make it work properly.
One benefit is, my dogs hear it a mile away and know he's coming...good insurance in case he decides to "drop by" at a bad time!!
Thanks!!

I have been kind of staying clear of this thread for a couple days but I have wired probably 100 or so devices off the headlight circuit and do have some advice.
1. Avoid doing so if possible. It used to be an easy task but with newer cars and DRL's etc. it has become a real hassle with sometimes unintended results.
2. If you ignore #1 you might find success with installing a diode in the line coming off of the high beam wire. I used to use a Ford part I think from an early Escort or something for this purpose and it keeps current from going through the wire in the opposite direction of what you want. I don't know if this is your problem but it's an easy fix if it is.
3. I appreciate your father-in-law's aversion to putting a switch in his dash but how about installing a nice rocker switch in the center console. If he doesn't use the deer whistle all the time for local trips etc. this might work for him. You could tap into the power accessory (lighter) plug already in the console. You could even just plug a lighter adaptor plug into the accessory port and install a little inline switch in the wire going to the whistle and not even have a hole in the console box.
or something he might like:
4. Go to a auto alarm or stereo install shop and get a little key fob type remote transmitter and reciever to use as your switch. He could either put the remote on his key chain or just leave it in the cupholder. You would need to someway deal with the issue of having the whistle turn itself off each time the car is turned off if with this arrangement.
Hope something here gives you an idea.

Not thinking
So I am convinced to not use the high beams as the "switch". I am trying to come up with other options that wont involve removing half his dash and still give the functionality of switching without adding a switch.
After trying to figure out how to wire it to his window button, I realized I can go right to the horn. Unless Lexus uses something other then a 12 volt horn, problem solved.
Thanks to ONSKNHT ... for the wiring diagram and because you gave me an idea with your story about not honking !!
