Default Red Dots on Nav Maps

As a new ES 350 owner, I appreciate the information available on this forum.

I am puzzled about the red pin head sized dots that appear on maps of frequently traveled routes.

Pretty soon the road will be obliterated by the red dots!

What are they?

How do I get rid of them?

Many thanks,

hhijim

They're likely the 'breadcrumbs' left behind where you've previously traveled.

I did a quick search on Gen 5 nav posts to see if I could figure out how to turn it off since I don't have a Gen 5 nav... try the below

you click on 'map view' and then click 'record' where it says TRACE. once you click to stop recording it will as you if you want to the the track marks on the screen.

Those are note points. When your car reachs a note point, the voice tells you where to go next. kinda like a waypoint.
