Default L-SB-0027-09 - TCM calibration to enhance shifting performance and smoothness

SB date: 17 March 2009

Applicability: 2007 ES350

Issue: All the usual things this car's transmission is famous for: shift flare (slipping when upshifting causing engine to rev freely for a moment), harsh downshift on reacceleration, "jerk" feeling on reacceleration. It appears Toyota has redesigned the transmission & torque converter to fix this problem. Sadly, it seems dealer service department lackeys are trained to say these characteristics are "normal" or "could not be duplicated".

Repair: Replace the transmission (including the torque converter). Then, update the firmware.

Default L-SB-0028-09 - Engine Ticking Noise

SB date: 19 Mar 2009

Applicability: 2007, 2008, 2009 ES350

Issue: Your $40K luxury sedan sounds like a diesel truck when idling. Engine cylinder cover area makes a ticking/clicking noise. The malfunction lamp on the dashboard may be illuminated.

Repair: Replace various VVT-i components (oil pressure actuated devices that adjust valve timing based on computer inputs). This is a complex repair that requires opening up the engine.

I have serious problem, I just get ES 350 2009 Ultra-Luxury, 10 spoke -wheels 215/55 R17, my car is not soft at all, I feel any smallest bump on the road.
When I took a drive test on ES-350 it was unbelievable soft driving. Now absolutely
different.
What do you think guys, may be because Ultra-luxury different suspension, wheels or something else.

Make sure your tires are inflated to the proper PSI.......It should be 30psi for the ES350's.

I am in a similar situation as that described by nkahovka. Just bought 2009 ES350.

The car is not soft at all, we feel any smallest bump on the road. When we took a drive test on ES-350 (at 3 different dealers) it was unbelievable soft driving. Now absolutely
different. I did adjust the tire pressure (it was at 40 PSI) to 30 PSI. Slightly better ride now - but nowhere near the ride experienced with the other cars at the 3 different dealers. Tires are Michelin MXV5.

Any suggestion? Have there been problems with the shocks?

Any suggestion are welcome.

Does anyone know any other website besides www.lexustsb.com which has the list of all the current TSIB ? I dont think it is very update.

For example, I can not find L-SB-0118-08 which is for the fix for the wind noise.

there is an active voluntary recall for the 2007 ES350 for the variable valve timing oil hose 9LH:LSC 9LH. the expiration date for this is March 13, 2013. dealer should replace this free of charge.
