Replacing the display screen of navigation system
 

Hi all - The display screen on the navigation system (2011 ES350) has cracked and is completely unusable. Can you please guide what options do I have? I called Lexus service and they gave me a ridiculous price of $6000+ for the equipment alone. Thank you!

You have a couple of options -
- find a used one on ebay, or a junkyard (search car-part.com for your year/model)
- find a company out there that repairs them ( several on google)
- wait for a lexus online sale (starts on 9/12)

How did it crack? Did someone damage it?

Yes, it was physically damaged when the screen was accidentally hit with a cell phone. I bought a replacement from eBay for $199 - the entire assembly that includes the screen panel, plus the digital clock, the adjoining buttons minus the 6-cd changer. Will replace it shortly.
